I don't think I paid too much attention to shadows before I met my husband. Now I think of him every time I see one that I think he'd love. The tree on the side of the abandoned house is one of those. I looked out the window and saw the wonderful shadow and ran out to snap a shot. Trees have always been a favorite subject of mine to paint or draw. I wished so badley that I had a big thick piece of chalk and a crew to help trace the image. The others are shots from our house and my little one, cozily strapped to me as we ran outside to take a few quick shots.

baby steps

This afternoon I was able to set up my easel and do a quick sketch of baby from above. All was done in about 10 min, just about enough time before someone got annoyed that she couldn't see what I was doing. She did, however, enjoy slapping at Grandma's extensive record collection. I feel good about my creative time so far today, even if the drawing was about 35 seconds! Maybe later I'll draw for a whole minute. Now I am enjoying high pitched talking which is just as wonderful.
